BEAUTY | A Modern Love Affair

Now, we're back to regular programming. I always feel like I'm rising above my station when I post about something other than makeup!

Have you ever wanted something so much, that you think you might be disappointed when you finally get it? Yeah, that didn't happen to me. The Modern Renaissance palette was everything I hoped it would be, and so much more. Can we talk about the packaging first? Mauve. Velvet. Gasp! It's just so dreamy!

This palette has been sold out for what feels like an eternity. At first, I tried to convince myself that I didn't need it. Who was I trying to kid? And thus, the struggle began. When I was in Florida, I dragged my family to every Sephora, Ulta, Macy's, Bloomingdale's. You name it, I searched it. I had deluded myself into thinking it would magically come back into stock. That's the power of this palette!

And rightly so. Anastasia Beverly Hills don't mess around when it comes to eyeshadow. Not only are they high quality, but they're super pigmented. They're the right amount of buttery goodness, that makes them blend to perfection. Can you tell that I'm in love? I already knew this, but this palette just reaffirmed the facts. Now let's talk shades.

With 14 shadows, there's a perfect mix of matte and shimmer. All are incredibly warm-toned. The dream! My two go-to eye looks are a brown/gold smokey, and a pink/burgundy smokey. This palette definitely speaks my language. I may never use anything else. Okay, let's dial down the dramatics! But, I can guarantee that for the foreseeable future, these are the only shadows I'll be using!

If you can catch this guy in stock, you NEED to snap it up. It's a warm-toned, dream come true. You can find it on the ABH website, Beauty Bay and Cult BeautyIt retails for $42/€49/£41. And well, when you think about cost per wear, well it nearly pays for itself!

Have you fallen under the Modern Renaissance spell?!

TOP 5 | Fall Fashion Faves

Who do I think I am, doing a fashion post?! There comes a time in the year when I crawl out of my makeup hole, and talk fashion. That time is now. While the Autumn/Winter seasons aren't my favourite, the fashion spoils surely are. I'm a Summer girl, sue me! Today, we're taking a look at my Top 5 picks for the current season!

1. Duster Coats
Hi! Hey! Hello, where have you been all my life? I am obsessed with the duster coat. It's just so versatile. You can dress it up, or dress it down. Either way, you look put together, and trendy AF. Plus, the colours they're coming in are to die for. Khaki, grey, baby pink, camel. Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme. Take a look at these offerings from Boohoo (Baby pink, Camel) and Missguided (Khaki).

2. Pom Pom Beanie
I'm a hat girl. Beanie, baseball, fedora. You name it, I'll most likely wear it. In the colder months, I love nothing more than popping on a beanie, and being the most cozy. Plus, the faux fur pom pom is very on trend! Check out these ones from River Island (Pink) and Missguided (Grey). Or, if you want to look cute on a budget, Penneys (Green) are doing 'em for €4!

3. Chelsea Boots
The good ole Chelsea Boot. It transcends seasons at this stage. They just keep coming back around, and for good reason; they're great! Like an good wardrobe essential, they can be worn whatever the weather, mood, or occasion. Whether you're a suede lover, or leather fiend, this season's Chelsea collection has something for everyone. These ones from River Island (Black), New Look (Khaki) and Boohoo (Tan) are some of my current faves!

4. Over-sized Scarves
Another accessory. One of my favourite things about Autumn fashion, is that you can carry over some Summer bits, just mix it up with some staple pieces. Like an big blanket scarf! You're bound to stay warm, with one of these bad boys wrapped around you. For this one, I'm gonna stick with our budget friendly fave, Penneys. They have some gorge blankets, between €5 and €9. Score!

5. Adidas Superstars
My babies! I could live in these shoes forever. No joke. They're classics! Pair them with some black jeans, a white tee, and any duster coat. There you have your Autumn uniform. It's that easy! They retail at €80, so they are an investment. But, can you really put a price on comfort and style? You can pick them up on the Adidas website, and you get 10% off if you sign up to their newsletter. Side note: aren't the rose gold pair amazing?!

What are your Autumnal wardrobe staples?!

Until next time,

BEAUTY | A Lazy Gal's Guide to Skincare

I'm going to say something, and I need you all not to hate me after. I have clear skin. God, it feels good to get that off my chest. I've never had to endure severe breakouts, mine are strictly hormonal. My skin's not very dry, it's not very oily. It just is. Because of this, I've never really made an effort to create a skincare routine. That, and I'm just lazy! I literally use 3 products, with an added makeup remover and face mask. Quick, easy, no fuss!

2-in-1 products are the lazy girl's best friend. Two birds, one stone, and all that jazz! This Nivea Daily Essentials 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner is the focal point of my skincare routine. It cleanses. It tones. It also removes makeup pretty well. What more do I need? I just apply a healthy amount all over my face, let it soak in a little, then wash it off. The 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner can be found in Boots, for around €1.30.

I remove that with my trusty Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and some large cotton pads. I would be lost without this guy, seriously. It's the most multi-purpose product around. It removes makeup, it cleanses. It saves your life in a jiffy! It's super gentle on the skin too, so any skin type can reap it's benefits! This can be bought from varying pharmacies, and retails at around €4.50.

Then, we moisturise. Right now, I'm trying out the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It feels super luxurious on the skin, very rich. You can feel your skin drinking this baby in. It absorbs quickly, and leaves the skin silky smooth. I tend to switch up my moisturizer regularly, just because I can. But, I can definitely see myself buying a full size of this product in the future! The full size retails at €24.95, and can be found on Cloud10.

As for makeup remover, I'm not a huge fan of makeup wipes. I just feel like they don't remove all of my makeup, and I have to do an extra step then. God forbid! However, this Ciaté London Makeup Melter is my dream come true. It's a solid balm, that turns into an oil when heated. It does exactly what it says on the tin, it melts ALL your makeup off. You just wipe it all away with a damp face cloth. Plus, it leaves your skin feeling so soft! You can pick up your own Makeup Melter from LookFantastic for around €19.95.

Lastly, we come to the mask. I try to do a face mask once a week. But that realistically turns into, like once every two, *cough* four weeks. Told you I was lazy! Right now, I'm trialing the new L'Oreal Paris Skin Expert Pure Clay Detox Mask. This guy promises to detox and brighten the skin. I'm gonna give it a few more tries before I form a solid opinion, but so far, so good. It recommended that you use this mask THREE times a week, but let's be real. I'll be doing well if I use it 3 times a month! The Pure Clay Masks are currently €7.50 in Boots, so snap 'em up while you can!

Are you a lazy gal like me?
Or do you have a 10 step, twice daily regiment?

Until next time,
Elle x

FAVES | September 2016

I say this every time, but HOW IS IT OCTOBER ALREADY?! This year is passing so quickly, I can't keep up. You may have seen most of these favourites before, in my USA Beauty Haul. I just can't stay away from them this month!

First up is Too Faced's Hangover RX Replenishing Primer. Right of the bat, the smell of this product got me. It's so fresh and fruity. I'm sold! It's hydrating, moisturizing, and feels lightweight on the skin. It's long-lasting too. My first time using it, my makeup was on 12+ hours. At the end of the day, it looked just as good as when I put it on! This product surprised me, I normally go for silicone based primers. It might even be my new favourite! The Hangover RX Replenishing Primer retails at €32, and is available from Debenhams.

Next up, the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow 24 Hour Foundation. Another one that surprised me. I've tried the other foundations in the Infallible collection, and we did not get on. I only picked this one up because it said Pro Glow, and because I'm a believer in second chances. And third chances, it seems! It's a medium coverage foundation, with a glowy, luminous finish. My shade is 208 Sun Beige. I really, really like it. It blends and settles well into the skin. I found the rest of my makeup sat nicely on top too! If you have oily skin, I would suggest a matte primer. I personally don't mind the sweaty glow! I haven't found anything online about an Irish release, but I'll keep you updated!

Boy, am I late to the party on this one?! I am, of course, talking about the Becca Cosmetics X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. While I'm a huge fan of Jaclyn, I was reluctant to purchase this product, for whatever reason. HOW WRONG WAS I? This is the highlight for me. I'd go so far as to call it a gift from the highlight gods! Bold, but necessary. Champagne Pop is a gorgeous white gold highlight, with major peachy, rose undertones. Obsessed! The formula is super smooth, buttery, and so so sooooo pigmented. It's buildable too, but I suggest just lashing it on 'til your hand's sore. Shame on me for ever doubting Mrs, Hill! Champagne Pop is available from Space NK and Cult Beauty, and retails at around the €38 mark.

Now, you may, or may not, know that I have a little problem with liquid lipsticks. They're just so convenient. They don't require as much maintenance as regular lipstick, and they're nearly always matte. Obviously, I'm obsessed! So in saying that, I had to try the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks. While I was in America, I picked up four: Dolce, Ashton, and the two featured today: Sepia and Trust Issues. These two shades are so perfect for the Autumn/Winter season. Sepia is a grey-brown, while Trust Issues is a winey-purple. The shade range is massive, and getting bigger with new releases all the time. The formula itself is long-wearing, pigmented and super matte. It is drying, so I'd avoid these if that's not for you! A major downside to these liquid lips, they're not available in Ireland yet. However if you don't mind the shipping costs, you can get you some over on the Anastasia website, or from Sephora. They retail at $20 each.

L: Sepia R:Trust Issues

My last beauty favourite is a skincare gem. It's the Boscia Makeup Break Up Cool Cleansing Oil. The guy is amazing! He takes makeup off, even anything waterproof, in an instant. While it's a cleansing oil, there isn't an oily residue left on the skin. It's very gentle and soothing, ideal for anyone who's skin is any way sensitive. I bought the travel mini to try, but I'll definitely be buying a full size in the future. The 10ml mini retails at $10, while the 30ml full size is $30, available from Sephora.

This very last favourite might be my all time favourite thing I've ever purchased. I say that ALL the time, but I really mean it this time. For as long as I can remember, Beauty and The Beast has been my favourite Disney movie. It's number one on my list, no matter what mood I'm in. So obviously, I couldn't wait to get back to Disney World, where New Fantasyland was built. Equipped with Beast's Castle, Gaston's Tavern, and Belle's house, it was like being in the movie! I was so amazed. It was a dream come true! I couldn't leave without my fave little guy, Chip. I've looked all over the internet for a good quality Chip cup, but it was next to impossible. I even scoured Disneyland Paris, with no luck. Guess you have to go straight to the source! This guy retails at $21.99 plus tax, and can be found in gift shops throughout Magic Kingdom, and Disney Springs.

What made the cut for your September favourites?!

Until next time,
Elle x
